About society

The Society of Psychoanalytic Couple and Family Psychotherapists is a non-profit organization established in August 2020 by a group of qualified specialists in the field of psychoanalytic couple and family psychotherapy.

All members of the Society for Psychoanalytic Couples and Family Psychotherapy are practicing psychoanalytic couple or family psychotherapy who have received professional training that meets international standards in this field. These professional standards are ensured through the continuous exchange of clinical experience within specialized supervision, seminars and conferences.

Our mission is to promote the development of couple and family psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic work with couples and families in Russia.

Couples and family psychoanalysis is a professional activity that increases our understanding and knowledge of the unconscious processes in the relationship of a couple and family and uses this knowledge in the treatment of married couples and families. Couple and family psychoanalysis brings together views on the mental state of each partner in a relationship with the other and takes into account their interactions as couples/families and how they relate to significant others from their social environment.

The objectives of the SPCFP are:

  • creation of a professional community of psychoanalytic couples and family psychotherapists based on international professional standards in this field.
  • to promote the professional development of members of the Society of Psychoanalytic Couple and Family Psychotherapists through the expansion and deepening of knowledge on the theory and practice of psychoanalytic couple and family psychotherapy;
